“Christ continues to teach his people”

A key mission of our parish is to provide age-appropriate Christian Formation for all of our members. From the youngest to the oldest, the Christian life is one of constant formation and conversion, which begins at the Sacred Liturgy, continues into daily life, and is rounded out by study, prayer, and reflection. Ss. Mary and Joseph Church strives to provide opportunities for all its members to deepen their faith in light of the Scriptures and the twenty centuries of collected wisdom handed down in the Church. While Catholicism is centered on the person of Jesus Christ, our participation in the intellectual and spiritual tradition of the Church deepens and intensifies that relationship.

Our Parish School of Religion Program provides basic religious formation for our children in grades K through 12. This program meets weekly during the school year for formal catechetical programming. Our students who are preparing for the sacraments of Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation have additional preparation and training programs which work in tandem with the PSR program.

We are in the process of re-structuring our relationship with the Blackburn College Newman Club, which is the Catholic Student organization for local college students.

Throughout the year, a number adult scripture study and other classes meet formally and informally at Ss. Mary and Joseph Church. For the latest schedule of Adult Formation opportunities, please consult the parish bulletin.
