I am Amanda Washko, and I am beyond excited to be the 4th grade teacher. I am originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana, but moved here 7 years ago when my husband Joel and I married. We have 2 kids, Rosalie (4) and Wake (1). We currently live in Sherman; however we are parishioners at St. Aloysius. Our family now contains four generations of St. Al’s students, since my daughter will be starting in preschool this year!
I am a graduate of Purdue University and also have a Masters degree in education from Benedictine University. I am fluent in French and have teaching endorsements in not only elementary education, but also middle school science and social studies. I have been in education since 2008 starting first as an academic advisor at Indiana-Purdue University for 3 years, then as a substitute teacher when I moved to Springfield, and finally as the 4th grade teacher at St Aloysius. In 2014, I took a hiatus from St Al’s to have my 2 children, but now am back in the 4th grade position I so dearly love!
