FAQ
Q: What is the role of the School Board?
A: The St. Aloysius School Board is an advisory body that provides counsel to the Principal and Pastor. The School Board operates under guidance from the Diocesan Superintendent of Schools and in conformity with the policies of the Diocese of Springfield.
Q: How are School Board members appointed?
A: School Board members are appointed by the Principal and Pastor
Q: How many people may serve on the School Board at one time?
A: The School Board shall consist of no less than 7 and no more than 13 members at one time.
Q: How long is the term for a school board member?
A: Each appointed School Board Member is eligible for two consecutive three-year terms; the two consecutive terms may be followed by one or more annual terms.
Q: Can I address the School Board?
A: Yes. Requests to speak in front of the Board must be received 72 hours prior to the Board Meeting and shall be sent to the School Board email address([email protected]). The request should indicate the desired topic of discussion. Only one individual from a group may be the spokesperson and may address the Board.
Q: Do Board members receive any compensation for their service?
A: No

A: A few examples of areas that the Board consults on are: Strategic Planning, Policy Formation, Evaluation, Advancement/Development, and Communications.
